Date Night & Temple Lights

Saturday was finally a much needed day off for Mic & I. We're always busy so when we do have a whole day off we take full advantage of it. I woke up early and got my hair colored/cut (much needed). It turned out super cute, as always. Thank you Michelle.
Then I came home & we went out to lunch to a new bbq place that I was just introduced to by my bff Tif. Lunch was good. Afterwards I wanted to check out the festival of trees, it has seriously been 15+ years probably since I've been. But after looking for a parking place for way too long, I decided to bag that idea. Maybe waiting to go on the last day & on a Saturday was a bad idea. And I'm not always the most patient person it turns out. Maybe I'll try again next year?
We decided to head downtown and check out the new Trader Joes. I love Trader Joes and it's about time Utah gets one. I hadn't realized it only opened the day before so it was packed too. And there was seriously NO food left on the shelves or in the freezer sections. Crazy. It also wasn't as big as I was hoping it would be.
After Trader Joes we headed to This is The Place Monument for a festival. Mic apparently has never been to the historic monument before, and I've only been once last year or the year before for the March of Dimes walk.
There were a bunch of fun booths, and yummy smelling food. I didn't find anything that we needed so we left and headed to dinner. We went to Caffe Molise. Mic had never been, and I'd only sampled some of their food at the eat local event that I went to with Tif.
Caffe Molise was just okay. Sadly I was not way impressed.
After dinner we headed to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. Beautiful as always. I love this time of year. The weather lately has been kind of odd, warmer than usual winter temperatures, lots of wind, and no snow. I'm used to bundling up to see the lights, and having snow around now. It doesn't feel like winter, or close to Christmas without snow. I can't listen to Christmas music until it snows. I don't love the snow, but if ever I was to move somewhere that doesn't snow in December, and I didn't have a white Christmas, I think I would be super disappointed.
We also got to see City Creek finally. I'd heard a lot about it, but hadn't had a chance to go check it out. It is incredible!
