Happy Easter!

The day started with me giving Mic his Easter basket that I'd put together for him. We really haven't celebrated Easter with baskets  in the past, but I decided it could be fun. Earlier this week I'd gone shopping with Tif for stuff for her boyfriend's basket (she always puts together a cute thoughtful basket for him). I found Mic a Utah State University t-shirt (since he goes to Utah State, and doesn't own any college apparel), a pair of cool plaid (?) shorts, some black dress socks, body soap, candy, cookies, and popcorn. Pretty simple, and inexpensive. I even ended up making my dad a mini basket as well filled with candy, cookies, and fancy bread.  I figured it would cheer him up after his long hours he's been putting in during tax season.
Then Mic and I went to brunch. We tried to go to Gardner Village's easter buffet they had today but there was a hour and a half wait. No thank you. Maybe if the shops had been open, and if we hadn't gotten such a late start on the day. But I was starving, so we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Fork Lodge instead. Which turned out to be the way better choice anyway. Beautiful scenery, quiet, not crowded, cheaper.. and probably better food.
On the way to the canyon we stopped at home for the camera/weird tripod thing Mic just bought. Because you can't go up the canyon without taking pictures.(he bought some tool thing that has a tripod stand attached so we could attempt to take our picture with the self timer setting on the camera..)
We took pictures at our favorite spot (Moss Ledge). And of course I was wearing not sensible shoes for the occasion. I swear every time we go "hiking" for pictures up a canyon I'm wearing crazy heels. I was when we were last at Moss Ledge when I got engaged, and I wore crazy pointy toed heels for canyon pictures for our two year anniversary in Park City, and today I wore cute heeled boots. But no worries, I didn't twist and ankle or anything.
Tonight we are doing dinner with the fam, and dying easter eggs. I LOVE hard boiled eggs. I'll make someone else do the boiling though, because no matter how closely I try and follow the directions they never quite turn out. Seriously how hard can making a boiled egg be?!
love our car pictures LOL

Edible easter grass?! Weird! And no I didn't buy it.
