My gender prediction before we find out the results at the
gender reveal party we’re having… I’m pretty positive we’re having a boy. I’ll be genuinely shocked if we
end up with a girl.
I honestly don’t think I have a preference. I tell Mic that
I want a girl eventually… so if we had a girl for our first, than future pregnancies
would be chill because I wouldn’t be wishing/hoping for a girl. I tell Mic that
I wouldn’t know what to do with a boy, but hearing stories of Mic as a little kid, and picturing
Mace when he was little sounds like so much fun. Trucks, legos, and water gun
fights could be almost as fun as dress up, Barbie’s, and nail painting, JK.
Mic and I have the most random and funniest conversations about
our future child. One in particular:
Me: “you better get used to tea parties, bows and pearls,
and learn to paint nails and do hair…”
Mic: gives me his signature look he gives when I’m being
funny.
Me: “we aren’t having a little girl are we?”
Mic: “nope.”
Me: “okay fine, tonka trucks, lego’s, and sword fights out
of sticks then.”
Mic is going to make the best daddy to our son or daughter.
But I must say, if we do have a girl he has a lot to live up to to be the kind
of dad to our daughter as my dad was to me J.
Gender Reveal Party:
Mic came up with the idea to do a gender reveal party with our family and a few close friends. I can't remember who decided that the two of us wouldn't know the gender beforehand either. But either way we decided to ask my best friend Michelle to make us a cute gender reveal cake because she's seriously Betty Crocker. We went to the ultrasound at a little over 16 wks and told the ultrasound girl not to tell us the gender. So she did her thing, and showed us our baby but we closed our eyes for the peek at the "parts". I had a card made for her to check the box boy or girl. I took the card to Michelle. So she knew the gender before even we did.
We had the bbq/gender reveal party the next day so I had this cake and the card sitting at my house over night and didn't peek!
Laura video'd us cutting open the cake to reveal the pink or blue- and I cry/laugh everytime I rewatch it. I seriously was SO SHOCKED that I don't even know how I reacted. Its seriously just me genuinely surprised. I was so set on us having a boy that when Mic says "that's pink" when he saw pink cake I freaked out! And left the knife in the cake. LOL. Then I start crying in front of all our guests. But I warned them beforehand that I was definitely going to cry, so whatev.
We are having a GIRL! I still cannot wrap my head around that!
Thanks to my family and friends for coming out to support us during this exciting day in our lives. I was glad I got to share the whole moment with them.
