One year older, and wiser? I'd like to think so, but that doesn't stop me from having a mid-life crisis like dread knowing that (in my head) I'm old.
My birthday was the least eventful one yet. The night before I had clinicals until 11, and got home after midnight on my birthday- Mic got up early for work, so I didn't see him, and then I repeated clinicals again from 3-11 getting home once again after midnight, so my birthday pretty much came & went without seeing Mic or doing anything other than clinicals.
*disclosure: I am SO thankful to be in nursing school, and 9 months away from being a Registered Nurse. I try not to complain bc I've worked so hard for this & wanted it for so long- so don't think that I'm complaining about clinicals.. just having them on my birthday* Especially since I'm used to being on vacation celebrating my birthday since it always fell over Spring Break in the past.. and I'm spoiled like that ;)
I worked the day after my bday but that morning Mic took me to my favorite, Kneaders for their to-die-for french toast. Then he took me to the mall to buy more camis/tanktops for under my shirts bc mine were looking rather ragged (I probably bought them years before my wedding and that was 3.5 yrs ago..) While paying I realized I didn't have my purse & began to panic. Mic suggested that I probably left it in the car. When we get back to the car we see that it isn't there & then I realize that it is still on the back of my chair at Kneaders! But at this time I only have 20 min to be to work, so Mic just drops me off at work & heads back to get my purse. I get dropped off at the backside of the hospital & after he drives away I realize that all 3 of the doors I could go in are locked on the weekends and only open with badge access (which I don't have bc my badge is in my purse). So I walk all the way around the hospital to a door that actually opens and head up to work. Yet I can't get in my unit without my badge either. Serious security, LOL.
The good news is that everyone at Kneaders seemed wholesome and someone turned in my purse with everything still inside. Good Karma for them :)
After work Mic took me to Tucanos. There must've been Prom going on because there was a TON of high schoolers dressed up. And let me tell you.. a lot of their dresses were hideous! Crazy over the top, barely able to sit at a table they were so poofy (picture my wedding dress poofy). Made for good people watching while we waited a hour for a seat.
So that's my birthday for ya. If anyone asks I'm 24 ;)
ps
I got the country megaticket (tickets to 5 country concerts this summer at Usana) for my birthday. Love country!
