Last weekend:
Saturday was a spa day. I started the day getting a shellac manicure, and spa pedicure with my best friend Tif. We'd bought Groupons to the Paul Mitchell school. We'd never been but its actually a pretty large place with hair, aesthetics, and nails. Note to self: remove your own glitter toes beforehand, because they don't have the tools to remove them & will file the crap out of your nails. Ouch!
After that I met my mom and sister for lunch and then we surprised my mom with facials at Cameo for her birthday. My facial was SO relaxing.
Such a nice day of pampering before the start of nursing school.
Sunday Mic and I spent a lot of time outdoors.
I'd signed up to volunteer at Jordanelle's annual EarthWell festival with Planned Parenthood. The EarthWell festival is a two day event with organic food, solar building demonstrations, holistic healing, nutrition, eco friendly products, etc at the reservoir . Planned parenthood had a booth with information about go green baby products and information on raising a healthy "green" baby. I'm all for recycling and second hand shopping so I consider myself somewhat eco friendly.
Mic came along, and was such a good sport sitting with me at the booth. We brought Soph along too, and she of course attracted lots of attention. The booth next to ours was a chiropractor's, and he had his cute Jack Russel Terrier (named Jack, so original) who quickly became Soph's best friend.
After my shift we checked out the other booths, and then headed home.
We decided to go to Oktoberfest at Snowbird. We go every year. I love Snowbird, and the fun music and delicious bratwursts at Oktoberfest.
We were able to get two free activity passes from my mom's friend who works there. So we rode the "mountain flyer"- its kinda like a zip line, and we rode the ski lift. I'd been on the lift and the tram before, but I never knew about the tunnel/cave at the top of the mountain. So we got off the lift and checked that out. They've built some walkway thing through the mountain some 300 yards and the view on the other side is awesome.
The brats were delicious of course, and we also tried this dessert waffle thing that was TO DIE FOR. Seriously I need to go back to Oktoberfest and get another one- or two.. and not share it this time.
The weather was so nice, and it was nice to be outside all day. I'm dreading winter. Although when I was riding the ski lift, I was kinda wishing I had skis. If only it only snowed in the mountains.
