Some of this last week’s highlights... and I swear we don't always go out to eat this frequently...

I’m still picking up a bunch of extra shifts and working crazy amounts of hours but we still managed to have fun.

Last Wednesday we went to The Cheesecake Factory with our friends Laura & Darrin & their son Hunter. I almost said baby but I guess since he’s nearly a year and a half he’s not really a baby. Last time we were together we were saying how you never get dessert when you go out to dinner because you get too full off of dinner. We decided that we needed to do a “desserts only” date night, and where better than the cheesecake factory? We also got a few appetizers to start, one of which they ended up giving us for free because it took them so long to bring that one out or something. We all got our own cheesecake because Mic and I couldn’t agree on one to share, and even though Laura and Darrin wanted the same kind, they didn’t want to share. So 4 cheesecake slices for us! I got dulce de leche (my absolute fav), Mic got a Kahlua coffee one, and Laura & Darrin got the red velvet. Delicious.
lettuce wraps, YUM

I don't even want to know how many calories are in these 4 slices..

Mic & cute Hunter.

Friday night I went to an authentic Mexican restaurant with Tif and her family. They ordered their usual and I didn’t know what it even was, but really enjoyed it actually. Pretty sure I could eat my weight in salsa.

Saturday morning Tif and I went yard selling bright and early (okay 8am but still, early for my day off…) I didn’t have anything in particular that I was looking for. I ended up finding a beach chair for Lake Powell for $1 at one house, and when we were walking back to the car I noticed a few things in the driveway next door.. I couldn’t tell if they were having a yard sale or just cleaning out their garage, and no one was around. Turns out it was pretty much both. They saw that their neighbors were having a yard sale and decided to clean out their garage and sell some stuff. I found two cute huge beach umbrellas that are in practically new condition (I asked the lady to set them up so I could make sure they worked properly). They were each only $5. So now I have 2 beach umbrellas and a cute chair for Lake Powell, all for a grand total of $11. You can’t beat that! I love bargain shopping/yard sales.
ready for the beach/lake!

Also Saturday our nephew got baptized and we hung out with Mic’s family at his sister’s house. We planned the Lake Powell trip details too. I’m getting so excited to go.

Sunday Mic, his brother Keith, and I went fishing at Rockport Reservoir. We had wanted to go somewhere closer up East Canyon, but apparently dogs aren’t allowed up that canyon since it’s a water shed, and we had Sophie with us. I’d packed us lunches, and plenty to drink because it was HOT! We tried out two different areas. The first was beachy and I tossed soph her tennis ball most of the time there because when I tried fishing my hook kept getting stuck on the bottom and was a huge pain to get free. The second area was really rocky, and a way steep hike down to the water. Mic was the only one to catch a fish. All in all it was a fun afternoon but definitely way too hot.
I heart fishing

waiting for a bite

Love us.

Sunday night I went to a Sheryl Crow concert at Red Butte Gardens with my dad and one of his friends. I love that amphitheater. The concert was sold out before tickets even went on sale to the general public, and since my dad is a member of Red Butte/has season tickets we were able to get tickets to the concert. They got in line 3 hours before the gates opened to insure that we’d have great seats (since it’s all general admission/lawn seats). I can’t wait until Colbie Callait comes in August. Last year she opened for Sheryl Crow, and that was such a fun concert.

Tuesday Mayson graduated from high school. Graduation was long, but it was fun seeing him receive his diploma. The family went to a Japanese steakhouse afterwards to celebrate. None of us had ever been before, and it was really good. Mic had to work so he missed out on the graduation and dinner, so we’ll have to go back there sometime.
he's all grown up!
