HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Mic and I have never been big on celebrating Valentine’s Day. I only really remember getting him one Valentine gift back in high school. Of course I waited until the last minute too. Tifanie and I went to like Walmart or somewhere looking for a stuffed animal to give him on Valentine’s day, and I’m not kidding when I say there were only 2 Valentine stuffed animals left on the shelves (which was like 3 rows of shelves of an entire isle). One of the animals was a Gorilla that had a heart that said “Wild Lover” and the other was two monkeys kissing. Needless to say I got him the two monkeys.

This year I saw online somewhere the idea of “14 days of Valentine’s”. Kind of the same idea as the 24 days of Christmas. You give a small gift every day in Febuary leading up to Valentine’s Day. It sounded like a cute idea to me. I asked Tifanie if she wanted to go shopping/plan the 14 days with me for her boyfriend as well.

One (slow) day at work I thought up 14 cute sayings/phrases I would use. A bunch of the ideas I found online, but some I really did come up with myself. And actually it was more work than I thought. I emailed them to Tif, and she printed them on cards.

Then we went shopping. Literally 3 stores later we had all our supplies, and just in time for the start of the month.

Every morning before I left for work (and before Mic even woke up) I would choose which item I wanted to use that day, attach the cute card, take a picture of it (for the blog) and leave it on the coffee table. It took a couple days for him to catch on to what I was even doing, and he probably thought it was super cheesy. One day I left the house in a rush and didn’t set up that days “gift” and he text me later asking if I wasn’t doing the daily gifts anymore. I think he looked forward to his daily surprise.
Overall it was pretty simple/inexpensive, and I think a cute gesture. Better than stuffed animal monkeys anyway.
"I wouldn't chews anyone but you"

"You're the Obi-Wan for me"

"we were mint to be together"

"so glad you whisked me off my feet"- I came up with this one because I knew he wanted/needed a new whisk

"You have o"fish"ally stolen my heart"

"you rock my world"

"I'm nuts about you" and Pistachios are his absolute fav.

"we make a great combo"

"thanks for sticking by my side"

"I am so fortunate to have you"

Tif and I dipped/decorated fortune cookies that I got at an Asian  Market

"I would be so mixed up without you"

"I love you more than chocolate"

Don't laugh, but I bought him boxers and wrote "No pants, no problem.."

I came up with this myself too, and was pretty proud of it. I bought Cannolis from Kneaders bakery and wrote "Holy Cannoli I love you!"

I gave him this on Valentine's Day with the Cannolis. I wrote down "10 things I love about you" on slips of paper and  put them in this cute jar.
