A dozen or so ladies from work and I get together once a
month for a card exchange night. We all make 12 homemade cards beforehand and
then exchange them with everyone in the group. So you end up getting 12
different cards. We started this a few months ago, and decided it would be fun
to do “themed” cards. Each month is a different theme. We have done Thank You
cards, Happy Birthday, and most recently the theme was Congratulations. Everyone’s
cards are so cute and unique. Some I don’t even want to give away to
friends/family. They are works of art & I want to display them in my home,
LOL.
We eat, and chat about life, work, etc. Each month the
location varies, and everyone switches who is hosting it at their house. It’s
nice to have something to look forward to month to month, and to visit with
coworkers outside of work.
Last month my friend Tifanie came over to hangout and eat
dinner, and she helped me make my cards for card exchange night. I don’t have
the fancy Critcut a lot of the woman in my group have, and I usually have to
take a trip to the craft store before I get started. Back in high school I had
a lot of scrapbook supplies, but either they are still at my mom’s house, or
have just been used up since then.
One thing for sure though is I definitely need a craft room.
My kitchen table has been taken over by ribbon, paper, glitter, paper cutters,
glue gun, etc. I craft better than I cook anyway, so my kitchen table is being
better utilized. Just kidding. But I do want to get some organization for my
crafts, so I don’t spend so much time looking for a specific ink pad or stamp
amongst the disaster.
I’m excited to see everyone’s cards for next month’s night.
The theme is wedding.
